The Day After Christmas ... and all thru the house

not a creature was stirring till around 11 ish! We both slept in. We had an appointment at her counselor's office at 1:30 ish, which turned out fairly well. I do have an insurance issue I am going to have to address though it seems.

Yesterday, Christmas Day, my daughter and I did not even leave the house, and there were no visitors to the residence. She and I moped around biggest part of the day. I think she was bummed that she got only one present from me and there was nothing to open Christmas Day morning. We opted to ice cream at some point but couldn't find nary a restaurant open. I let her drive a little, and I really wanted us to see a movie together but to no avail. She is on her period and just did not feel well. Ah, yes periods...they are a distant memory for me. Thank Goodness, I don't miss them at all!

Today, instead of going to the movies with mom, she and her boyfriend went to the movies, and they are up in her room each with their laptops at this time! and here I am down here on mine. I talked to David for a bit today online. I didn't tell him about my eldest daughter and I getting into it on Christmas Eve. It's embarrassing to say the least. I haven't heard from any of them, not even the in-laws. I suppose if she didn't come home then they would have called here or something, so I assume she'll just saunter up to the door here in a few days and act like everything is just normal again, like she usually does. I'm sure she won't even remember any of it, or the hateful words she spoke. That's the reality of psychoticness? I don't know what else to call it. Perhaps her hepatitis C has affected her brain some way, I don't know.

I am just glad that it is over. It wasn't much of a Christmas, unfortunately getting into a knock down drag out Christmas Eve and it sure brought a lot of heartache for my youngest daughter and myself. It's hard to see someone you love so disturbed emotionally enough to want to steal off you. It's not like I don't try to help her...anyway that's a whole other story, or rant, and I might cry again, so let's not go there.

signed me couchless in Kentucky as well. Today, my friend brought me a couch saying it was a nice couch, better than the one I had, but come to find out it was dirty and stunk to high heaven! However, we didn't know how bad till it was in here for a couple of hours and the cat of the house, Sir Fuzzy, was curiously sniffing at it, OMGosh. With the other couch gone which we could not get back and why would we want it back! (it was propped up on bricks!) I know it's hilarious what a gal has to do! So when daughter's boyfriend came by him and I hauled it to the alley hoping it will just disappear! good riddance to stinky rubbish!

yep, I'm couchless and loveless. poor pitiful me.

Merry Christmas Eve To Me

and my daughter whose 16 and upstairs rocking to her music and typing with her friends on MySpace, while I'm down here trying to put a few emotions on paper.  Today, I worked 4 hours, as I do medical transcription for a living, and no doubt it will be a busy week to come to get things out in a timely fashion.  Anyway, after working four hours I took my daughter to the pawn shop (almost a tradition here!) for her to pick her out a piece of jewelry for Christmas.  It was new, not a pawned piece, but that would have been okay too if we had found one she liked.  She opted for a opal ring with two diamonds on either side of it.  It was a little more than my budget going in, but she's worth it, and it's the only present I can give out, outside of love.

My eldest daughter came by with the kids; Isabella and Wyatt, age 6 and 2.  I am a little concerned about Isabella; she is not herself here lately and seems stressed and was acting out with crying and such.  Her mother (my eldest daughter) has been acting nuts lately.  She has come here bullying me for money on several occasions, and over the past few months I have thought they are back again on drugs, and I believe that is the issue.  I hate to say it, but tonight she came in around 8:30 ish, demanding to get in, cursing at the door, so once I let her in (against my better judgment), she demanded I give her a couple of dollars; I refused, so she grabbed my purse and took off with it out the door, I ran out after her; a struggle pursued, she hit me repeatedly and kicked me, it was awful.  I was scared.

Before I knew it, out came my 16 year old daughter to help me as she heard the scuffle, and she ended up getting punched in the face by her own sister.  What a horrible mouth she had towards me and my youngest daughter.  My youngest daughter was totally upset and horrified that her own sister would hit her and her mother.  My eldest daughter was totally out of line and out of control, like some crazy psychotic person.  We didn't know her, but it's not like we haven't seen that side of her before.  She needs intensive psychiatric help, and I don't even feel safe letting her come inside the house any more.

Yep, Merry Christmas Eve to me, and to yours! Nothing like the holidays to bring the "crazy" out in families.

Interruptions and More Interruptions ...

My head hurts.

My heart hurts.

My bank account is dented.

There is always some drama going on around here.  My 16 year old has a new boyfriend and they are up in her room, watching TV, and being quiet because I was working, but maybe a little too quiet if you know what I mean.  I worry.  I think my daughter and I might need to talk about appropriateness here, as I am just not comfortable with this at all.

So they're up there and I'm down here working and then a call comes in from that lawyer who supposedly is going to stop the child support, and in walks Griszelda Mess doing her drama routine wanting $50 more bucks, like I got it to spare.  She is adamant and makes a comment hoping the house will burn down with that cigarette she threw down inside the house?? I think I'm going to lose it on top of everything else.

I want to scream!!!!

My lawyer is using my ex's lawyer's (whose in jail) cell phone? Geeze isn't that convenient? and I even called him back with the information, of course not realizing it was my ex's attorney's phone.  Anyway it's debatable whether or not I'll get that money back pronto without having to file a motion to get it.

Nothing like a little interference to mess up your day, so I had to work a little over, cancel an appointment this afternoon at 4! Oh yeah, did I tellya I volunteered to work 4 hours tomorrow to help out? Yeah, I don't why I bothered since my bonus this year was pathetic.

Do You Know Where You're Going To?

and where have I been lately?

I really need to journal and chronicle my feelings in one place. I have blogs every darn place, and it's time to consolidate.

Gee it's almost Christmas 2008, and I wished I could say I'm in a glorious mood, but I'm not. It's not as if I'm NOT thankful, I just lost my groove and can't seem to find it lately. What's been going on?

Let's see, at present my daughter has been living with me as of August 14th, after receiving that phone call from the investigators. It's been a few months of blur, decision making rights and/or at times wrong I guess, work stress due to my schedule being totally screwed up, and an absent boyfriend. I haven't seen David since April. I've talked to him by phone, but it seems as if he could be phasing himself out of my life. After all, we are not an item, I am merely his convenience if you will.

What does that sound like? Yeah, it's something like that. This is not to say that he does not care about me or my situation, he does. I happen to love him and desire him and have this need to be near him. He doesn't, that's all, and he will never change his life for me. I wanted the knight on the white horse, who charges in to rescue me from this appalachian hell, but he can't, or he won't, perhaps he would never give up one worldly possession for love? Maybe he doesn't really know I love him that way. Now that I am now officially a full time mom with a teenager at home, who might have ideas of "mom and a new dad" kind of thing, he seems to be less and less in contact. I suppose sooner or later she'll learn the truth of us, but it won't come from me. I'll never tell. He and I will just close out at some point. He needs me about as much as he needs a hole in the head. Funny.

So what else. Let's see, at this juncture I think that my in-laws are pretty miserable with the perception that they are back on the drug wagon again, pawing a ring her hubby gave her when he was in Vietnam. Their son is a piece of shit, and my daughter isn't much better it seems at this point. Both are in cahoots and connive and steal and coerce their storytelling and drama to initiate sympathy or fear in us, therefore bullying us out of money we don't even have. They have gone through thousands upon thousands of money from the in-laws but yet keep sucking everybody dry. Here are two people who psychologically are unfit to be parents of two children. It truly is pathetic. I hate being at odds with my grown daughter, but I can't help it. Until she proves herself I prefer to keep my distance. After all, my teen is the one who deserves the attention at present with all she is dealing with.

My ex, my teens' father is still in jail awaiting trial in January. My daughter talked to the Commonwealth Attorney, great guy, and she will be subpoenaed to trial to tell what she knows. I'm not sure she can follow through, but I as well am subpoenaed as well as the eldest daughter, who alleged that he touched and fondled her as a teen many years ago, and who knew there would be similar stories from girls nearly 15 years later? What a greasy bastard. I can't help thinking he did something to my youngest baby, who is now 16. She isn't right. He is being charged with sodomy and rape of a child under 12, and will likely go to prison, or so I'm told. Karma is finally coming back to kick his ass for the hell he has put us through as a family, even psychologically damaging "our" teen daughter, but that's a long story. One you can follow in the "The Sparrow Song" chronicles, which are a part of this blog as well.

I gotta go ... I got a food voucher at the local grocery for 60 bucks for Christmas dinner, so I'm headed off to get the best bang for the buck!

Do You Know Where You're Going To?

You are not alone. Neither do I.

Where have I been lately? Crazy, I reckon.

I really need to journal and chronicle my feelings in one place. I have blogs every darn place, and it's time to consolidate.

He is only borrowed. He gave his word to honor and cherish another a long time ago, but who holds his heart? Maybe he doesn't really know I love him that way. It doesn't matter, somehow it is not even relative.

Now that I am now officially a full time mom with a teenager at home, who might have ideas of "mom and dad" kind of thing, he seems to be less and less in contact. He probably needs me about as much as he needs a hole in the head. Funny.

Is It Tomorrow Yet?

What a day, what a week, what an exhausting last few months. I don't know what I feel about anything much. I feel exposed emotionally. I don't like it. Maybe it's just me. I'm feeling sorry for my situation and my life where it is, in limbo, sorta, struggling financially, emotionally, and January starts a legal proceeding, the possibility of my teen getting back to school IF she can tolerate it. My car is running with a check engine light on, it's just a matter of time before it blows. I need two tires. I need a Santa ... and somebody to wrap their arms around me and tell me they'll help.

I have 200 dollars in the bank, no Christmas tree up, no presents, and bills to be paid totally way over that 200 mark, and groceries to be bought. At least the mortgage is paid this month. I am going methodically broke it seems. It's hard to be faced with the reality that something will have to be turned off. Today was the office Christmas party. It was a luncheon at a local restaurant; I would have rather had a food basket. Ten years of service gets me fifty bucks Christmas bonus money which I went to a work Christmas party to find out after I opened it up at home. I just cried. I was hoping to at least get $200 bucks. The boss knows my situation financially and what my added stressors have been the last few months even with missed work due to my teen, and we even pay our own cable to work for him, and use our own computers from home to work for him, and a lousy fifty bucks is nothing.

Take This Job & Shove It Day

typistAt the risk of sounding paranoid, I really think that they are looking for a good reason to fire me. They are breathing down my neck here lately, and have been since I've had changes in my schedule because of my daughter who has needed attention is now with me, demanding priority, and taken me away from my work schedule ...blah, blah, blah ...

One day the immediate supervisor tells me she can work me on a schedule if an appt comes up and the next time she doesn't work on a schedule but rather says, "If you can't work your schedule then you need to talk to "BOSS".

I don't get it. Here's a scenario.

My daughter was scheduled for testing on a Monday 11-4-08 at 9:30, which they tell me will take a few hours, so I tell my supervisor and she asks me if I would be willing to work some hours the Sunday before, so I do that working 4 hours. Mind you, we worked that out without the BOSS being involved. After arriving for the appt on Monday and sitting there for an hour, the lady informs me at the desk that Bobbi probably wouldn't even finish before noon, so if there was something I would like to do instead of sit there, to go ahead just be back at noon to pick her up...so I go back home and email work telling them I am back on the clock as of 10:30. Then I get a message from the supervisor who says, "will it be a two-hour block" (not that it should have really mattered since I had already taken the time off) to which I reply, it would be short an half an hour of making it two, ... so in other words it sounds to me as if she is saying, "if it is NOT a two hour block don't bother working right? so I respond to her that I will wait until 12:30 to pick my daughter back up, or have someone else pick her up for me, which thankfully her stepmother could pick her up, so I work until 2:30 p.m. straight through getting in my 4 hours. I then work 3 hours from 4 to 7 p.m. Mind you I didn't have to work that since I had already taken the time off, but since it's Monday and workload is always higher from the weekend, I did, and of course the BOSS was not bothered with that change in schedule ...

Here's the other scenario ...

This morning I inform her that Tuesday (tomorrow) I am going to have interruptions in my day due to an appt and family issues and tell her I will work out my hours to which she responds, "Can you give me a rough idea of what they'll be? For instance, are you
going to work any in the morning at all or what?" I respond with trying to tell her what I can work, which I guess wasn't good enough for her or something and she responds back, "I forwarded this on to "BOSS", as you are supposed to be letting him know when
you cannot work your scheduled hours. He says to take tomorrow off, and if you have vacation time, put in for it.

I'm a little taken aback by this response from her, and am thinking, what the fuck? Really? It's okay if we can work out a schedule one time but the next time we are supposed to involve "BOSS?"

My next response was, holding my temper, was "I just found out over the weekend that they were going to Princeton which is 7 hours away and I would be needed to help out in order for little Bella not to miss school, and as far as the appt for Bobbi, certain things could not be rescheduled, and that I do not prefer to burn my vacation time for this.

Supervisor sends me back this message: "If you have a problem with this, you're to call Brad and discuss it with him."

At this point, I'm thinking what the hell, whatever ... it is obvious that instead of trying to work out ANY hours, they just want to dock me the whole 8 hours or make me burn my vacation time, so instead of responding back I give myself time to not say something I might regret at this point.

Three minutes go by and all this time I'm working typing ... and I get a message from "BOSS" saying ... "you may take vacation or not take it. It's entirely up to you. We'll schedule you for the day off."

My reply back to him an hour later ...

"BOSS", I was perfectly willing to work whatever hours I could tomorrow, and make up the other hours thru the week or on Sat., rather than take the 8 hours off, since I figured the holiday put us behind and we needed all the manpower we could muster.

Am I expected to take a whole day off anytime there is appt I have to make or a family situation or doctor appt comes up? I hate it that this appt is at 11 myself, I didn't schedule it, it was made for me according to their schedule, which I do realize is a horrible time. As you know, Bobbi is in counseling and unfortunately I cannot find somebody to take her all the time.

I just get frustrated at this point, and cancel the appt at 11 even though I know I should not have just to keep down the interruption in my day and decide to reschedule the appt., and the only interruption would be my taking and picking up little BellaRose to school.

So the "BOSS" asks me what can I work tomorrow? I say probably 8 to 3 since I still have to take/pick her up from school, which he says is okay with him and he opts out, and then forwards it back to the supervisor. Duh! Why did we all just go through that?

and here's the kicker ... while on lunch at 1 my daughter calls and says that I won't have to deal with little BellaRose tomorrow after all, as she had an appointment here that she could not miss so going out of town with hubby on personal business was out and she would be home. Say what? after all the stuff I've gone through already???

at 3 p.m., I notice there is only one more report assigned to me, so I email supervisor and tell her that I am working till 3:30 and that she should assign me at least one other report to do, as that 5 minute report wouldn't take me 30 minutes to do, and what does she send me? one 25 minute dictated report and another 15 minute dictated report which means either one I choose is going to run me over 8 hours, so I opt for the 15 minute report and end up working till 3:45 instead of 3:30.

In case you are curious, the time it takes the dictator to dictate an actual report, usually takes the transcriptionist twice as long to type. Surely there was a report with lower dictated minutes than that on the system, but oh well...could that have been spite?

and that has been my day, how has yours been? like I care...
