social worker, regroup case manager, and regroup counselor ... all of us in a meeting ... we all care but the object of our focus acts like she doesn't and is not showing progress as we had hoped ... she is giving nothing of herself ... big thing is ... she doesn't care enough about herself to want to help herself ... so truly sad ... or listen to those of us who are trying to get her to see where her actions or lack of progress is going to take her ... its like seeing a train coming but being unable to move. I am there, standing there ... and on the cusp of a trip tomorrow I will contemplate this. Ever just be so in your head over things that you function but you're not, not really ... Yeah ... the train's-a-coming ...

She can't be helped until she wants to be helped. Take care that you stay safe while trying to help her.
ReplyDeleteat 14 they don't have enough sense to know what they need. It may come down to a decision of her case manager, counselor and social worker to remove her altogether so it may end up out of my hands anyway.
DeleteTake her to a department store and get her a free makeover at the cosmetics counter. Help her to see that she can be a lady. When I worked in the glamour shots market, I always saw a difference in young girls' behavior pre and post photo session. It may have been short-lived, but it opened their eyes a little. Just a thought.
