Patient drank anti-dandruff shampoo.

Self-induced trauma to penis by a ball-point pen.

Self-inflicted bites, multiple.

Self-mutilations, multiple, chronic, persistent.

Suicide attempt.

Violent threats against staff.Attacks on staff.

Multiple self-induced traumas; head trauma, joint dislocations.

Loss of right great toenail. (Are you wondering if he whacked this off or chewed it off?)
holey whiz!

What on God's earth could explain these behaviors?

Well, sadly this patient was born with a chromosomal disorder (2q37 deletion) which in itself can cause physical dysmorphic characteristics, kidney and heart congential abnormalities, joint dislocations/scoliosis, other medical issues/illnesses, not to mention psychological disorders, mental retardation, autism, behavioral difficulties, bipolar disorder...and the list just grows on...

Folks, count your blessings is I can say.

...and on a totally different subject I am upset with Blogger; trying to use the editor to make posts and they disappear? weird things are happening. Is it just me?  it stinks...

a couple of WTH (what the heck) moments!

another day in FQA review... found on a report..."The patient states that he has been present for 14 months." actually dictated as "The patient states that he has been in prison for 14 months." this laugh courtesy of offshore MTs. ...and now, folks... a laugh furnished by our homeland US MTs. ...Indicated that she may have an irritation from the tape that she is utilizing and Miners Jeanett give her the name of the pharmacy to obtain the paper tape that we utilize where she had no issues with this. dictated as doc says....Indicated that she may have an irritation from the tape that she is utilizing, my nurse, Jeanette gave her the name of the pharmacy to obtain the paper tape that we utilize ... I ask you bloggers...which is worse? makes me cringe that our US MTs would type such bullshit.

Parental Control

While channel surfing looking for something interesting to watch this Saturdya afternoon, I came across this show called "Parental Control." The program where the parents pick their son or daughter's date, hoping they'll ditch their now boyfriend/girlfriend and go onto somebody new! well, this girl says while watching her boyfriend out on a date with somebody new says, "She's like margarine, all she does is spread..." hahaha...funny but what she was doing was some 'exercise routine'. More often then not, they choose the same partner their parents couldn't stand to begin with. My kids always seem to make the right choices, no major issues there with hellion significant others...

In the Land of Transcription today ~

the dermatologist dictated...

"I recommended he use CeraVe cream for moisturization."

MT typed it as ...

"I recommended he use CeraVe cream for masturbation."

When this was brought to the MT's attention by the FQA staff, she stated...

My fingers had a mind of their own!

Wait, that doesn’t sound right either…

cracked us both up!

and that one beats the reigning blunder of Hallucination Greer Blvd, which my boss informed me she sent to a client way back when she was an MT, she had "hal" in her auto correct to automatically spell out hallucination, so when the addy was Hal Greer Boulevard, well you get the gist of it...

oh the stories we could tell! and there you have it folks, another day, another giggle! How was your week?

I am glad its Friday!

Do We Really Have to Love Our Spawn?

Okay folks.

I know for some of you this may be a hard question, and you could never imagine 'not' loving any of your children, but loving your child as an adult is another story.  When they have not become the person they were raised to be brings up a whole other set of emotions.  Perhaps one has to walk in another's shoes to really honestly answer this.  You can say, yes I love my children because I brought them into this world, and I can take them out..yeah, right.  Well, consider doing them body harm, if under the age of 18, and Social Services will remove them for you.  Yep, somebody else can fuck them up for you if you are not doing your job as a parent.

When they are adults, however, and they prompt you to the point of wanting to do them bodily harm with a good bitch-slap, consider the size and figure one of you might end up hurt and in the hospital.

At this point, most of you know I am having to raise my granddaughter, so much for me being able to escape the drama from her mother's life to include jailbird hubby who will soon be home, or that screwed up in-law family.  One day grown eldest daughter is sweet, cakey, and piey, and the next she's bipolar, mouthy, and in your face.  When life hands you drug-addicted grown children, who have suffered consequences to include the loss of custody of her own children, drama for two years preceding up to that point to include lies, continual lies, verbage, theivery, just out and out bad behaviors to include bullying you, throwing items at you or even hitting you, even though you know this is drug-induced behaviors, in your heart you have disowned them because you had to.  Trust has been irrevocably broken, and it doesn't seem to ever get to the point where you can trust again.

Time and time again if you are being disrespected and your authority undermined (filling her children's heads that they don't have to listen to me as it relates to discipline, etc.), you get to where you dismiss them out of your life, and I'm not so sure that's a bad thing.  Its sad to think that even if she has cleaned up the drug issue, its still full of lies, deceit, behaviors that are hard to deal with, etc, and I am just done with it.  I am sick and tired of having to live in this drama ...actually I know at this point, it will never become a complete circle... it just leaves a a gaping hole...

If a grown child of yours become a source of contempt, shows disrepect, and just acts irresponsibly and disgusts you with their verbage right in front of little 'eyes' watching, do you just turn the other cheek? or do you feel inclined to kick their ass or ban them from your immediate surroundings?  maybe you should pick up everythng you own and move to bumfucked Egypt or perhaps a few towns over might be the trick...

...I'm tired if living my life for everybody else and drowning in this drama, I'm taking it back this year.

Yeah, a one-way ticket sounds like a good idea.

For all you Sugar Honeys out there...

hope you V-Day was sweet !

Enjoy!

Testing Boundaries...

Yesterday I had to call my daughter, and one of Isabella's friends mother who was spending the night with Isabella, and inform them that Isabella (9 years old) and Sheridan (10 years old) were missing.

They were last seen in front of the house one on a bike, the other on a scooter.  They both knew that going off the block was off limits, it was snowy and cold, how far could they go?  They also knew I ordered a pizza for them, and they should have been back.  Isabella would not pass up the chance for pizza or be late if she thought the pizza was here.  I called a friend's house, Ken & Regina's, as Isabella goes there to visit, as they are like her second grandparents, and they said Isabella stopped in and introduced her friend to them.  I was told by Ken that they had left, so I assumed they were coming home, but they never showed up.  I called Ken a second time asking them if they got delayed leaving their house, and he informed me that they left some time ago.

My heart sank right then, as I frantically put on my coat, went out began to bellow and look down alleyways, combing the surrounding block, but nothing.  I called my daughter, Isabella's mother, and also called Sheridan's mother to let them know the girls were missing and I could not locate them.  I walked down to Ken and Regina's and told them I would was going to summon 9-1-1.  They offered to get in their car and drive and look for them as well.

I remember when I was standing on the porch and I saw this old Chevy station wagon with the windows tinted, where you couldn't see in, that sped past me, and my thoughts were that perhaps the girls were in that car, it was speeding away, and I just broke down for a few minutes.  It didn't help when my daughter arrived that she blamed me for not watching them close enough.  They were gone maybe 30 minutes as far I could discern.  The initial 9-1-1 call for help had a lady on the other end asking me questions, a description of them, what they were wearing, etc., and after some interruption to include the pizza guy showing up, she dispatches an officer.  After a search of the neighborhood by my daughter (Isabella's mother) and Sheridan's mother, and with the help of Ken and Regina, all of us fearing for their safety, we turned up nothing.

Policeman asked for me to try to recall a timeline, searched around the house to make sure they weren't hiding, asking us what clothing they had on, etc., and asked us for a picture of both of them.  Another report came in, a third girl was missing.  We are all trying not to lose composure, and as soon as an officer and I went through all the rooms in my house, another officer says they have been found, and are out front.  All 3 of them were headed back to my house.  When the girls saw the police officers they broke down, especially this one little girl; she called her mother not able to even talk to her, so I took the phone and consoled her mother and hugged her as well, and told the mother I would have the officers bring her little girl home.  Needless to say, Isabella's friend did not spend the night; her mother was not too happy with her behavior as far as disobeying rules here as far as going off the block without permission.  I don't know whose idea it was to wander off, and at this point it didn't matter,

I thank God they were all home safe, cold, and wet, but ...

in a short while after returning home, almost immediately in fact, Isabella complained of a severe headache, and developed a raging fever, I gave her an ibuprofen, she laid down, was talking out of her head almost delirious. I worried she perhaps had fallen or hit her head, she said not, but I got her up and took her to Urgent Care.  I am not taking chances with a nasty headache to the point of her saying it hurt so bad she said she couldn't stay awake, and was very dizzy.  Ater exam, she has a nasty case of strep throat, that came on suddenly.  Flu screen was negative.
