The Traveling Toileteers
"Hi, how are you?"
I'm not the type to start a conversation in the restroom but I don't know what got into me, so I answered, somewhat embarrassed, "Doin' just fine!"
And the other person says: "So what are you up to?"
What kind of question is that? At that point, I'm thinking this is too bizarre so I say: "Uhhh, I'm like you, just traveling!"
At this point I am just trying to get out as fast as I can when I hear another question.
"Can I come over?"
Ok, this question is just too weird for me but I figured I could just be polite and end the conversation. I tell them , "No........I'm a little busy right now!!!"
Then I hear the person say nervously...
"Listen, I'll have to call you back. There's an idiot in the other stall who keeps answering all my questions...
Wednesday Mayhem
“If you forget to do something, you don’t know you forgot to do it.”

unless there’s consequences, huh?
Say, for instance, you hear a strange loud pop from an adjoining room, and remembering you had something on the stove, you go to the kitchen and …
holy shit!!!!
My kitchen stove is on fire!
Can you guess my first instinct?
A. smother it.
B. throw it in the sink
C. do absolutely nothing … (I’m thinking this place is worth more to me burnt down!)
or...
D. take a photo?

First off, let me say my first instinct was not to take a picture LOL so this picture isn't mine (just so ya know) ...
However, I did have fleeting thoughts of just turning around and running! LOL and let this place burn down solving a lot of my problems with upkeep; however I don't fancy the idea of really being homeless right now.

Frankly I was shocked to see the mile high flames cause I only put a pot of water on for spaghetti, how does that catch on fire? uhh...
Upon closer inspection it was not the burner I had put the actual pot on but the back burner which I had inadvertently turned on instead. I couldn't get to the knob (since it was melted) to turn off the burner cause the flames were on it, and the pot of water was sitting on the front burner, so whaddya think I did?

Yep, I took that water and threw it right on that burner dousing out the flames luckily, but I had a towel in hand ready to tackle should I need to. After I got the flames down I doused the back where the knob was and got down and unplugged the electric stove. Even the oven was spewing stinkiness!
I had to turn on my furnace exhaust to get out the fumes and smoke out of the house, open my back door and finally I can breathe again!
If you are faced with an actual grease fire emergency on your kitchen stove, here's a video showing you what to do.
Perhaps I'll invest in a little kitchen fire extinguisher! I'm sure they'd be worth their weight in gold and luckily you would never have to use it.
Gee, wonder what tomorrow will bring?
Perhaps I'll go stove shopping.

Not Another Delay!

4/14/2009 - Today I receive this notice in my email, so I guess this is going to drag on all summer long. Argggggh! Damn, this is really pissing me off.

This case will be dragging on a year in August. I just want it to end!~
Esophageal Cancer
"Drinking steaming hot tea has been linked with an increased risk of esophageal (food tube) cancer, Iranian scientists have found. The British Medical Journal study found that drinking black tea at temperatures of 70C or higher increased the risk.
Experts said the finding could explain the increased esophageal cancer risk in some non-Western populations. Adding milk, as most tea drinkers in Western countries do, cools the drink enough to eliminate the risk.....for the full article, click here.
I love hot tea myself, but never did I think it could cause me problems, but like everything else, aren't we to take this with a grain of salt? Give me a little honey instead, thank you.
I just learned that my son has been diagnosed with esophageal cancer and he is only 30ish. He has been having esophageal reflux for a few years, which had worsened. After undergoing recent testing, it was determined that the ulcer is cancer at an early stage. One can imagine that if the stomach acid is constantly coming up to inflame the esophagus it would break down the tissue, thereby over time causing a precancerous or cancerous situation. I have done a bit of research, and pictures are just awful to look at, and not to mention the outlook isn't too good if it is not caught early. I also think of another blogger who is himself fighting this battle. My son is on chemotherapy pills, and will need to see his oncologist back in two months. I am hoping the best for my blog friend, too.
Please, if you or a family suffer with stomach problems, indigestion and/or reflux tell them to talk to their physician, and opt for medical treatment instead of just treating it with over the counter antacids. Esophageal and stomach cancers are one of the fastest rising cancers in the US today. Be vigilant about your health.

Easter Sunday
Good Friday ...
I remember growing up we would all go to church on Easter Sunday not that we didn't normally go anyway, but I was always surprised at the number of new faces that would show up on Easter Sunday. For some people, that's the only time they come into a church, well except for maybe Christmastime. I always marveled at these women trying to outdo one another with their suits and hats! To some people Easter is all about dressing up and splurging for a new outfit! I haven't been inside a church for years. Organized religion is just not my thing, not that I am an atheist, but I don't feel the pressure or need to "dress up" to meet approval from a congregation cause I'm pretty sure the Lord Almighty doesn't care. To each their own.
I suppose some businesses, government agencies, or post offices were closed half a day if not all day, but my job went on for 8 hours today. I'm exhausted! As far as the legal issues for my ex from hell, I don't know how that went and I suppose his court date and trial is soon forthcoming.
The best news occurring on Good Friday was hearing from "D" after he underwent the prostate biopsy today. I said that they put in an IV and knocked him out, and he didn't feel a thing. No incidence occurred with the procedure, thank goodness! He is taking it easy at home (or is he?), and said he was peeing blood but having no pain. He keeps a sense of humor through it all.
On the home front, my teen and I are bucking heads again. Isn't this a rerun? I could swear I just saw this episode! This girl is getting on my last nerve!
