A Blonde Bella Moment ~ Tuesday December 11, 2007

I have to tell you guys a somewhat funny story about a toothbrush called the Roto-Dent. Some time ago, I purchased one from my dentist’s office after a routine cleansing as it would be an asset to the whole dental hygienic experience! I love clean teeth and gums!

Anyway, the reason I opted for this rather expensive brush was that first and foremost it had a lifetime warranty, four interchangeable heads, and if anything happened I could get another one from my dentist ... and since I have never really had a mechanical brush, I opted to buy this Roto-Dent to enhance my otherwise boring dental routine!

So, I was in oral heaven until ...

one day my Roto baby just quit rotating ...

Mind you, I have a daughter who has braces at 15 and when she visits she had taken over using my Roto-Dent for her dental pleasures. She loved it, too, using the other two heads that of course, I was NOT using! We love each other but~ hey, we don’t share the same dental brush heads! She hates using the water pik which is the only thing she has at her dad’s so coming here to use my Roto-Dent was something she really looked forward too, and even asked me to buy her one of her own for Christmas! That would be an expensive Christmas present, but I had planned on getting her one because with her dental needs she really could use one.

Okay, allright ... back to the story!

Anyway, I saw my dentist this past week, and I informed her of the plight of my situation with the Roto-Dent! I told them it just quit! and so much for the lifetime warranty I was miffed! and of course I was promptly presented with another one which I was excited about! She told me just to bring the old one back in next time I came which will be in March. So, I bring my new Roto baby home and open it up, and am using it, and I am once again in heaven!

and then I am getting ready to throw the Styrofoam packing in the garbage when I notice that there is something on the back side! It looked like a power cord with a plug-in unit. Yes folks, instead of getting another brush, all I had to do was charge mine up! and of course, the charge hole was on the very end of the handle, who would've seen that?

*insert giggles here*

My daughter and I laughed till we rolled in the floor over this one! I suppose we will giggle about this one forever! and of course, my daughter was in heaven because she got an early Christmas present!

Will I tell my dentist of this most embarrassing find? Heck no! So why am I telling you guys? Good question! My credibility and intelligence is totally shot to hell now, huh? So there you have it folks, I guess a lifetime warranty means nothing without a charge unit! and a brain!

and now a word from our Sponsor!

ha!
...! Okay, lunch break is over, I've brushed my teeth, and back to work I go! Enjoy your day, bloggers!

You do realize you will have to explain when you don't return the Roto-dent that "doesn't work" to the dentists office? I guess you'll just have to fess up.

Sherry & I use to blog at Blogstream, but she also blogs here.

Leave it to you to remind me of that! maybe I'll run across one somewhere that is deader than a doorknob! (oh, forget that now that I think about it ... they have her name and dental logo on them!) oh what to do ... what to do ...

Well, see it's like this ... How was I to know it was rechargeable? after all I never saw the charger with the first brush, it obviously got thrown in the garbage by mistake because it was stuffed in the StyroFoam on the backside! for goodness sakes! and it said it was a lifetime warranty, right? It didn't say nuttin' about needin' charging! Well, of course I didn't read the actual directions that came with it, as they went in the garbage along with the charger!

Reopening a 1940s Cold Case file...

I know this post might appear a little odd; however a few years ago, my sister's daughter went to see a medium. This was after my mother's death from bowel surgery complications.  It was a shock to all of us, however, in the visit with this medium, my mother and her mother came through with revelations.  My mother was concerned over what was happening with my eldest daughter, mentioned her, and for us to look after her, she was worried about her, and come to find out with good reason.

While questions were being asked and/or information exchanged and revealed, my grandmother, Katherine "Betty" Whitt, told her story.  If when you die, are you able to confer with those who have passed on before you? see the future? look back into your past like a movie reel of your life? It makes you wonder, doesn't it?  Do you believe that your loved ones stay connected even though they have passed on?

My grandmother revealed that she died of blunt trauma to the head, (circa 1945), she wasn't sure with what exactly, whether it was a gunshot directly to her head, or some other object.  She also revealed the person who did this to her; it was my grandmother's lover's brother.  My grandmother was murdered by her lover's brother because a love child born out of wedlock? I don't know the motive, it was the early 1940s...was it mafia, money, greed? a jealous rage of some sort?  Perhaps my grandmother threatened to blow the whistle on something?  It was rumored this was a 'mafia' hit.  My mother's life would forever change, and we would never know our own grandmother due to this perpetrated and premeditated act of violence.  I remember seeing her picture in my mother's bedroom, she was a beautiful woman.  Why would someone want to murder her, and leave my mother an orphan, who would then have to go live with other family members, only to be abused.  Why would her real father not take her? It must have been awful for my mother to lose the only person in her life.

In 1955, at only 15 years of age, my mother married my father just to get out of that abusive house she was living in.  I am not sure but I remember my mother telling me that she was told the case was 'sealed' and she could not find out who had murdered her own mother.  She worked for Olan Mills studio back when in Middletown, Ohio, retouching photos.

As the story unfolded, we would learn that my mother's real father was a very influential man, who did not want a child (my mother), and thus wanted my grandmother to get an abortion, so they would part ways, and she moved off for awhile.  My grandmother would bear his child, my mother, however keeping "Elaine" (my mother) a secret, until one day he would learn the truth;  that he was, in fact, the father of an illegitimate child.  My grandmother moved back to Middletown with my mother who was 5, thinking that perhaps by hat time people would forget perhaps the rumors that once were.  Could my mother's father have been married at the time he was having an affair with my grandmother, and unable to take in my mother as his own child?  Did his wife at the time, know about my grandmother and/or my mother?  Was this a love triangle, between my grandmother, her lover and his brother?

According to the revelation revealed, because my grandmother had rebuked him by having the child and not following through with an abortion (did they even do those back then?), there was supposedly a 'hit' ordered.  I think he did not want his reputation tarnished, maybe he was in politics, and perhaps some law enforcement was involved and it was hushed, silenced forever, sealed. My mother was born in 1940, so my grandmother was killed in the early 40s.  One thing is certain, it would have been considered taboo in those days to have a child out of wedlock.

However, my mothers attempts at finding out information surrounding her own mothers death failed back when. Times have changed, though, and there have been cold case files reopened.  I want to know what happened, and who or if anybody was punished for her murder? If my mother's father had his 'lover' (my grandmother) killed, its not a secret that his brother did the deed, as my grandmother told us this through the medium.

Do you know, bloggers, if there is anyway I could find out this information?  Unless I go to Middletown, looking up records that have been microfilmed, which would take weeks if not months, I really hate to buy into these records searches.  Does anybody have access to records search?  If so, please look up Aubrey Tutt, date of birth Feb 18, 1918; and let me know what you find.  This was my mother's real father, whom she never knew, but who upon sickness or in his soul searching, called her to meet with her, and she went to his funeral in February or March of 2004; only months later she herself would perish (my mother).  It was rumored that Aubrey had quite a fortune, perhaps his motive for killing off my grandmother?  Also I am not sure what was on my mother's birth certificate, Audrey Elaine Whitt Tutt...? This tragedy happened in Middletown, Ohio in the 40s (?45)... I figure considering woman found dead in apartment of a suspicious nature would have been front page news...I wonder what mystery would be uncovered from this time period.  I've not had much luck with online search, other than finding out that there is a Cold Case bureau in Butler County.

more meaningless babble...

...listening to a cool jazz mix now-- when all is quiet.

Earlier today, I got a IM from my boss telling me she was stopping by my house after work. I work from home, so immediately a red flag was thrown up. I figured she was taking off, firing me, or retiring herself...(well, not that bad, but I figured important enough for her to stop in) so here I was imagining the worse, but she just needed someone to talk to herself.  We go back a long ways.  We talked shit and shop...Its been rough lately for the both of us, work and life stuff.  After she left, I played a wii game or two with granddaughter and now that all is now quiet, I'm listening...unwinding...thinking about the small things…

"some days, the veneer of sanity is
but a frightfully thin coat of face,
not a mask...but a real live face.

it thinks no one will notice,

like the face of one extraordinary,
made beautiful by the hands of
an artist, pigmented blushes upon
undercoats of base hues, eyes
accented, lips highlighted, cheeks
rosy...but

beneath are thoughts of significant consequence.

I find solace, perceptible pleasure in small things,
but the small things are disappearing...and
my hands hurt too much to flip the hourglass.

time marches, does not stand still for even a moment.

and some days,
the mind just doesn't care anymore,
it knows it can wait out the clock while
it ticks away the hours of another day...

and passes through night,
with all it's dreams and such,
and it hopes that something,
someone, somewhere...

just might, today, make a difference...sometimes I just need a reminder that I do make a difference.

(a friend of mine wrote this beautiful prose, FW he called himself).  As I listen to my jazz I drift off in my own thoughts...

meaningless babble

Heavens above ... whirling clouds slash across Montana sky

Life changes by a second...
by one moment.
by one word spoken.
by one word left unsaid.
by one accident.
by one triumph.
by one coincidence.
by one decision.
don't let 'real living' pass you by, take hold of your life and live every minute...

however, do people really do this? only in love do they? in love with their life, in love with someone, in love and passionate about something...I've gone through phases, sometimes I wonder where I am, and what's coming; I find more often than not a feeling of dread.

all this chaos, weather, battles within families and discord across the planet, people going hungry, jobless, the rising costs of everything...hard times...makes me want to bury myself in the confines of my blanket and just stay there, and so I shall...its raining all over the world. not too many things feel right, right now. how's the weather in your soul?

and what the hell is up with Blogger? I can't make comments anywhere...I tried.

cat scratch bitches...

if you are pulling into a public parking lot, a slur gets thrown at you for some reason,

and verbage ensues from both parties to the point that bystanders call the law...

what does that say about YOU?

seriously...take some responsibility.

Grow the fuck up!

At 30ish if you are behaving in such a manner, there is something definitely wrong with you.
and you state to me that 'she' started it...bullshit.

somebody felt as if this was going to go to blows obviously ...

Do you think this behavior is appropriate at any time, bloggers?

My grown daughter told me this last night, and I asked her.  "What if Isabella were with you, or Wyatt?  and you behaved this way?" Do you really believe that YOUR behavior is justified in a public place, not caring about any surrounding people, and/or any children present, in a grocery store parking lot?  Why would you keep throwing barbs back, and heat this up?  I don't give a shit if you knew her or not...

its shameful...

and sheds a whole new light on whether or not she can be trusted to have Bella out in public without supervision.  What does this say to Isabella had she been with her mother?

our newest arrival...

okay I just realized that somebody messed up the date in my camera.  Now I'm going to have to search my directions to find out how to fix it or take the wrong date off.

check out our little baby girl...she had just eaten...slurp!

My youngest daughter was looking for a kitten, her boyfriend is going off to college in another city, she feels lonely, wants something to keep her company as she lives with her Dad, and her big boy cat lives here with me, so she solicited my help.  I think she should take "King Fuzz" home.

Needless to say, I clicked in Ebay or somewhere and typed in kittens, did a search, several searches in fact, trying to find a kitten close to home, and came across an ad in my county looking for a home for her "Ragdoll." The reason they are called ragdolls is because when picked up their body totally relaxes, therein perfect for children, like a ragdoll. They are an awesome breed of cats, we're excited to get this little half-breed, we don't care that she isn't a full bred ragdoll. Have you seen the prices of a ragdoll kitten? yeah...nearly a thousand bucks. Our cost? free. Also this breed will get really big, just like "King Fuzz." The two together will be stunning side by side, due to their contrasting colors, as Fuzz is caramel and white. I can't wait to get a picture of the two of them together. The lady said they were moving and couldn't take their cat, so they were looking for a good home.  I had no idea on intial contact via email that she even had a kitten.  I was willing to try to take in a beautiful bred cat needing a home, sent an email, half expected no response really...and so I went onto search for Bobbi a kitten.  Who knew the mother was so beautiful...

The lady emailed me back and said she found a home for the mother (above), but that she had a 'half' not full bred Ragdoll kitten, obviously this mother had six babies with some oddball cat, and they had all died except for the kitten you see in the top pic, who now belongs to us.  The lady said she nursed this one with a bottle, the lone survivor, just like Bobbi, she's pretty much been a loner thanks to her Dad.  Its so little and tiny, and those little eyes...yeah suckered me right in.   She is sitting on the step, she can't even get up and down the steps, she's so teeny! Bobbi took the kitten to her Dad's, but I doubt he's going to let her keep it.  We are taking suggestions for names...so throw one out here...
