The Sweetest Love Letter Ever!

I don't know what girl doesn't love to receive a love letter in the mail. I was thrilled! so much so in fact that I wanted to share it with all of you, my blog friends~

Our love began with a glance across a parking lot,

You possessed me in just a few days.

I remember long drives through the countryside,

And long weekend getaways.

But the years passed, and like upholstery in the hot sun,

Your love began to fade.

And now in a time when I need your care the most,

You hit the blinker and turn away.

And while our gas tank of love may be running on fumes,

I still have plenty of love to share.

So, if you have a quart of tenderness left for me in your heart,

Take me back to Firestone Complete Auto Care.

Love,

Your 2005 Odyssey LX

Now, I'll have to say, that is quite the love letter isn't it? hahaha! Totally cracked me up, and it makes me wanta go there to get my oil changed, LOL! This letter was a result of my boyfriend taking his van there before we left to go to Florida. They have a way with words!!

oh swoon !!!

Excuse Me, while I ramble in my thoughts here ...

I have oftentimes wondered if the soul leaves the body before the actual physical body functions cease, and at what moment? and would you know it? if you were there would you recognize it?

While my ex was sick, he lived in a little house not far from me. His sisters were there and they did the best they could, never having experienced a death or dealings with Hospice, but that is another whole story in itself. They would call me for advice and want me to come over to soothe John by talking to him because they could not.

Those last few months were agonizing for everybody. Little Bella missed him terribly, they were the bestest buddies. We all watched him go from walking and talking to bedridden, and then to not talking but responding, and then ultimately not responding, only to stimuli. He would be talking to people who weren't even there or seeming too, looking around as if someone were in the room, and talking to them. I think that is hardest part of losing someone is them not being able to tell you what they need.

I am not really sure at which point I believed him to be dead, and my newly turned 4-year-old granddaughter confirmed my beliefs. She shocked everyone. You should know that her and her "papaw John" were inseparable. They spent countless hours together. He loved my daughter and little "Isabella Rose" even though they were not blood-related. I remember picking her one day from daycare a few days or even a week later after John had died, and the worker asked me when John had died.

When I told her she seemed surprised, and said are you sure? I said yes. She said that Isabella told her he died the day of a recent field trip. Curiously I asked her when that was. She relayed to me that she had noticed little Isabella away from the group of field trip kids, and sitting quietly alone, so she went over to talk to her, and asked her what was wrong. She said, "My papaw just died." The daycare worker said she did not think too much about it, consoled her, as she knew he had been gravely ill, and perhaps had died the night before.

She then said Isabella told her while sitting there that her papaw John told her, that he was there a few moments ago, hugged and kissed her, and told her he loved her, and to be a good girl. The worker had thought that he had died and she had been told about it, and was making up a story, however that was not the case. At the time of the field trip, John had been alive but near death. It wasn't until the wee hours of the next morning that his actual body did cease to sustain any life, and he passed from this world. I received a phone call that day.

Unbelievably eerie, I believe he did visit little Isabella that day.

no more time to ramble, its back to work for me.

I think Debussy would be just right on a day like today ...

A couple of days ago, I was sitting here working, and I kept hearing breathing, just light mouth or perhaps pursed-lipped breathing as if someone were sleeping close by. I had the air conditioner on upstairs, and of course where I sit in the dining room I hear the refrigerator kick on in the kitchen next door, and sometimes noises outside, but never anything like that. I kept thinking ah, it's just a combination of noises; at one point I even paid close attention to my own breathing thinking it was me! LOL which of course it wasn't. It immediately brought to mind my ex-husband, who lived with me in this house, but whom I divorced and we stayed friends. When he was diagnosed with lung cancer, and grew sicker he still always came by. I always knew he loved me more than anything in the world and our being divorced was just a piece of paper to him. He never came empty-handed, usually bearing breakfast for me, or sometimes stuff for dinner, and I would cook and try to get him to eat. This house was his refuge I suppose as he loved it, and perhaps he just wanted to be close to me, and scared, and did not want to be alone. Oftentimes while I was working he would sit in my recliner and fall asleep and I would listen to him breathing. I always teased him that if he died in that chair I was going to be upset! but he did not die here. I have to wonder though if he's not still here. I know this may seem a little weird to some of you, and perhaps I should get ready for the little men in white coats to come take me away, huh?! but stranger things have happened without reason, like sometimes smelling cigarette smoke in the house, and I recall being woken up abruptly from sleep by a hand that spookingly stroked down my neck and right shoulder. I just about moved out of here on that one, let me tell ya! I live alone, so there was no one here but me, and I expected to see someone there when I raised out of bed over that one, and just like this latest incident two days ago I went into the livingroom to see if perhaps somebody (one of my grown kids) slipped in and I didn't know it, but of course there was no one there. These few incidents are a little unnerving but I am not moving. I think perhaps I am being watched over and I am not fearful but I still contemplate the meaning of all of it.

I always loved Debussy, I can play his Clair de Lune and Arabesque on the piano but I love to hear him, he certainly does it better than I do! He is from the romantic period, and I love the flow of his music.

Hope everybody has a nice day. It's back to work for me, break is over.

Where Are You Going This Summer?

Photobucket

THERE used to be a time — oh, let’s call it 2007 — when summer was considered a time of almost limitless possibilities, a time of languorous vacations, of trips filled with the promise of discovery.

But the summer of 2008 is starting out like a cruel joke, with air travel increasingly a nightmare and with wildly escalating gas prices threatening to make the road trip all but obsolete. It’s almost enough to make you sit at home and catch up on episodes of “Gossip Girl.”

The summer vacation is still an inalienable right, however. And there is no reason to forgo it this year. It will just take a bit of creativity — and perhaps the willingness to stay a little closer to home this time around — to pull it off in 2008.

Thus, here are 31 options — from river rafting in eastern Oregon to biking in the White Mountains of New Hampshire — for a great summer vacation. Not one involves the terrifying conversion of dollars into euros, many can be enjoyed without ever getting on a plane, and the road trips are ones that actually justify filling up your tank, even if the price of gas hits $5 a gallon this summer.

Hope everybody has a great day! Our server is down this morning, so I'm surfing for a bit! I am trying to decide which one of these 31 places I would love to go this summer!

Here's My Ticket Out of Appalachia!

I have been getting spam in my Time Warner box for a couple of weeks, which I never got before and it is becoming quite annoying since this is only used as a box for work and sending my reports back and forths. It is a good thing that on Friday I am switching over to DSL. Today I received this letter in my email, and wow! what an opportunity to get out of Appalacha, huh?

and become a prisoner in a cell after having embezzled funds totally $17.5 MIL from a foreign bank? LOL

If perhaps anybody would be interested, here ya go!

MR.MAKATA ALIU
SUPERVISORY MANAGER,
UNITED BANK FOR AFRICA(UBA).
OUAGADOUGOU BURKINA-FASO.

Dear Friend,

(TOP SECRET)
I am Makata Aliu, the supervisory manager at the United Bank for Africa(UBA) Ouagadougou,Burkina Faso,West Africa. With due respect and regard. I have decided to contact you on a business transaction that will be very beneficial to both of us at the end of the transaction.

During our investigation and auditing in this bank, my department came across a very huge sum of money belonging to a deceased person who died on July 31st 20003 in a plane crash and the fund has been dormant in his account with this Bank without any claim of the fund in our custody either from his family or relation before our discovery to this development.

The said amount was U.S $17.5M (Seventeen million five hundred United States dollars). As it may interest you to know, I got your impressive information and email address through the International web directory of Burkina Faso chamber of commerce on foreign business relations here in Ouagadougou Burkina-Faso.

Meanwhile all the whole arrangement to put claim over this fund as the bonafide next of kin to the deceased,to get the required approval and transfer this money to a foreign account has been put in place and directives and needed information will be relayed to you as soon as you indicate your interest and willingness to assist us and also benefit your self to this great business opportunity.

In fact I could have done this deal alone but because of my position in this country as a civil servant(A Banker),we are not allowed to operate a foreign account and would eventually raise an eye brow on my side during the time of transfer because I work in this bank. This is the actual reason why it will require a second party or fellow who will forward claims as the next of kin with affidavit of trust of oath to the Bank and also present a foreign account where he will need the money to be re-transferred into on his request as it may be after due verification and clarification by the correspondent branch of the bank where the whole money will be remitted from to your own designation bank account.

I will not fail to inform you that this transaction is 100% risk free. On smooth conclusion of this transaction, you will be entitled to 30% of the total sum as gratification, while 5% will be set aside to take care of expenses that may arise during the time of transfer and also telephone bills, while 65% will be for me. Please, you have been adviced to keep "top secret" as I am still in service and intend to retire from service after we conclude this deal with you.

I will be monitoring the whole situation here in this bank until you confirm the money in your account and ask me to come down to your country for subsequent sharing of the fund according to percentages previously indicated and further investment, either in your country or any country you advice us to invest in. All other necessary vital information will be sent to you when I hear from you.

I look forward to receive your email as the urgency implies.

Yours faithfully,
MR Makata Aliu.
