our newest arrival...

okay I just realized that somebody messed up the date in my camera.  Now I'm going to have to search my directions to find out how to fix it or take the wrong date off.

check out our little baby girl...she had just eaten...slurp!

My youngest daughter was looking for a kitten, her boyfriend is going off to college in another city, she feels lonely, wants something to keep her company as she lives with her Dad, and her big boy cat lives here with me, so she solicited my help.  I think she should take "King Fuzz" home.

Needless to say, I clicked in Ebay or somewhere and typed in kittens, did a search, several searches in fact, trying to find a kitten close to home, and came across an ad in my county looking for a home for her "Ragdoll." The reason they are called ragdolls is because when picked up their body totally relaxes, therein perfect for children, like a ragdoll. They are an awesome breed of cats, we're excited to get this little half-breed, we don't care that she isn't a full bred ragdoll. Have you seen the prices of a ragdoll kitten? yeah...nearly a thousand bucks. Our cost? free. Also this breed will get really big, just like "King Fuzz." The two together will be stunning side by side, due to their contrasting colors, as Fuzz is caramel and white. I can't wait to get a picture of the two of them together. The lady said they were moving and couldn't take their cat, so they were looking for a good home.  I had no idea on intial contact via email that she even had a kitten.  I was willing to try to take in a beautiful bred cat needing a home, sent an email, half expected no response really...and so I went onto search for Bobbi a kitten.  Who knew the mother was so beautiful...

The lady emailed me back and said she found a home for the mother (above), but that she had a 'half' not full bred Ragdoll kitten, obviously this mother had six babies with some oddball cat, and they had all died except for the kitten you see in the top pic, who now belongs to us.  The lady said she nursed this one with a bottle, the lone survivor, just like Bobbi, she's pretty much been a loner thanks to her Dad.  Its so little and tiny, and those little eyes...yeah suckered me right in.   She is sitting on the step, she can't even get up and down the steps, she's so teeny! Bobbi took the kitten to her Dad's, but I doubt he's going to let her keep it.  We are taking suggestions for names...so throw one out here...

My Car Died at the Y, Now What? Plan...

me? have a backup plan?

its funny I have Mater up here at the beginning of the week, the perfect ending for the week too.

As you all know, I've had my share of automotive issues in the last few years, bought two motors due to an over-exuberant and out of control teen and the motor was running great, until yesterday.

While many of you might have thought "time for a new car" back when, I am one of these emotionally attached to their car persons and am not in a financial position to go out and buy the Buick of my dreams...nor anything really above 10 grand..which limits my selection quite frankly.

So far today, I can't even get ahold of Mater to go tow my car off the YMCA parking lot where its transmission refused to go any further. Yes! this time I believe its the transmission. You try to start it, it just kicks off, a smell ensues (not typical of a motor smell), and yes it had been slipping a little, a slight tug noticed occasionally, not always...and I had the transmission fluid checked just the day before as I was concerned about it.

Just the perfect ending for my stressful workday too, as I was wondering what the hell else could happen? in that we were not going to make the deadline with a few clients files...

Yes, f my carless and penniless life. Donations of money or a reasonably running car appreciated. Email me.

Update: A friend of mine looked at my car; he seems to think it wasn't getting the gas, that the hesitation I've been feeling was because of a fuel injector clogging up or the fuel line somewhere blocked. You can hear the pump but it won't start. So, we'll see what the mechanic says...either/or its probably time for a new ride.

Mater Monday

Well my Monday started out needing a tow truck to haul all these 600 files around in, which is pretty much what I did all day...haul files around from FQA to another!

Seeing 600 files is way too much Monday stress too early to deal with and try to come up with a plan? All this before my first cup of coffee? I'm gonna shoot somebody...

My strategy:   Move 'em around Mater~! yep, spread the love around...say ... You've never done this dictator before? Let me introduce him to you...lol...with 182 files of the same client...overkill...where have those files been hiding? yeah...in the words of my friend and colleague, Francis, it was brutal. I'm sure he didn't feel too much love.

With cooperation and perseverance out of my FQA staff, I'm happy to report that we hauled ass!
Mater would have been proud.

I sure was! ha!

and how was your Monday?

I am dog dead tired, folks....

Frankly, every time we have a Monday holiday, its hell the rest of the week. Its been nonstop madness the last two days.  We've had two new clients, an overflow of files, and tackling the onslaught of files has worn me out.  I worked from 7 to 7 two days in a row, today I just quit working at 5, and just said heck with it! I'm over it.

"Little Queenie" (aka Isabella) and I walked down to check out the new Riverfront Tuesday the 5th, since we didn't even get close to it Monday night when Billy Ray Cyrus took the stage July Fourth; however Kenny Loggins and Blue Sky Riders, his new band took the stage.  Speaking of the night before, the Fourth, the police were not letting anybody pass into the Riverfront area due to over capacity as it was, even arresting those people trying to cross the tracks to get into the place.  Shameful.  However when a lot of the people left after the fireworks, they did let more people go in so at least they could hear Billy Ray sing. I just left, heck with that crowd.  I figured I could watch it on YouTube somewhere...LOL.

A neighborhood friend of mine walked over to us a little while before the concert was going to start Tuesday night (Kenny Loggins), and gave us her VIP tickets (that somebody just gave to her) to be seated up front next to the stage.  We were in the 2nd row, excellent seats, and the drinks were free! That tickled little Isabella as she was thirsty she said, so she helped herself to the freebies, enjoyed the concert and bedtime wasn't till nearly 11:30 p.m.  Getting up the next day was a bear! However the Blue Sky Riders were pretty good.

Yes, work has been brutal this week.  Today, I was listening to a new client dictate, "The patient is doing well with her Horizontal Therapy treatments..." yeah...that's exactly what I was thinking....

....

a nap!

...

...well, not exactly! ha!

Kenny Loggins

I saw Kenny Loggins in concert tonight in our little hometown.  He has this new band, Blue Sky Riders, and they were pretty good.  I enjoyed myself.

Happy Fourth!

check out this post.

Sundays ha-ha's...its Monday...

A man phones home from his office and says to his wife: "I have the chance to go fishing for a week. It's the opportunity of a lifetime. I have to leave right away. Pack my clothes, my fishing equipment and especially my blue silk pajamas. I'll be home in an hour to pick them up."

The man rushes home to grab everything. He hugs his wife, apologizes for the short notice, and then hurries off.

A week later, the man returns and his wife asks: "Did you have a good trip, dear?"

The man replies: "Yep, the fishing was great... but you forgot to pack my blue silk pajamas."

His wife smiles and says: "Oh, no I didn't... I put them in your tackle box!"
