Are Your Grammar Skills Up To Par?

Does the misspelling bother you as much as the crack rash? Yucko!
I know the difference between 'your' and 'you're' but I am not surprised by the lack of grammar skilled people out there. In my line of work as a medical transcriptionist, my error rate is low, and I mostly proof my own reports as I type having honed my auto correct to work to my advantage. I also pride myself on being an excellent speller, too! I won the school spelling bee in 5th grade! Speaking of which, do you know how to use to, two and too? Obviously there's a lot of people out there who don't! Unbelievable!
A few years back, when I was supervising in-house, I had this one girl that I was constantly giving grammar lessons to, things she should have known, just simple grammar stuff. She was supposedly a high school graduate! Obviously with not very high marks in English skills! Geeze. A spell checker isn't going to teach you the proper word usage or the proper word for that matter. For instance, if you type "angle for angel" it won't pick up the error because both are words, right? It is inconceivable to me that the majority of people can't spell either! Another time during proofing one of the grammar deprived girl's report, she had "angel" spelled as "angle" the whole report through. I wonder what the psychologist would have thought receiving this report with "angle" instead of "angel" typed in it. I would never go back to supervising idiots! Does one not know the difference between angle and angel? You don't even pronounce them the same for God's sakes! She would mess up even the simplest trio of to, two and too, too!
One of my all time pet peeves: bad grammar and spelling skills!
When it comes to body adornment, there's nothing like having a misspelled tattoo to show how ignorant and dumb you are, a true marker that soon you'll hit the next evolutionary step by losing the thick-set forehead and growing a set of second thumbs. Then you can get those tattooed, but perhaps take along a dictionary!
If you must see these impressive tattoos (although one I think is permanent marker?), click here.
Don't come too close...I'm warning ya!

Who knew cows could be so mean?
EXTENT OF DAMAGE: Loss of sight in the left eye, 9 plates and 46 screws in the nose and face, with resultant numbness in the face, and hearing loss.
OUCH!
I was typing this report a while ago about a guy who states he was assaulted by one of his cows in October 2008. According to the story, the cow had a young calf nearby and ran out and butted the claimant several times including around his head knocking him unconscious. When he came to, he had several injuries and was taken to the hospital. At that point he had surgical repair of multiple facial lacerations. He had metal plate and several screws put in the bony structures about his face. His injuries after the surgical repair have resulted in numbness of most of his face, and also near blindness in the left eye. He still continues with pain and numbness in the face, and he also has had several sinus infections since this time, and has been on antibiotics several times.
Did the cow stomp him when he was down? It sure sounds like it. A word of caution is needed here. Stay far away from a baby calf and its mother! or be prepared to battle.
O, Waitress ....

What does one have to get a drink around here?! Hop to it, Hopsing!! ChopChop!
No, I don't want somebody to eat ... just bring me my darn drink order!
I tell you I don't know what is wrong with people ! You can't get good service these days. It used to be people took pride on doing a good job, no matter what they did for a living, but sometimes when you're out in a restaurant or even in a store at the register or waiting in line at the deli, you run into those people who just take their sweet time to get to you and are genuinely not interested in seeing that you are waited on or satisfied. Lately a trip to Wal-Mart at the deli, and then to the customer service line a couple of times, just sent me barreling straight off to talk to the manager about their bad attitudes! I give everybody a fair shake, but when they show their ass behind the counter, watch out! As far as eateries, I usually tip when I go out, but I have to tell you if the service sucks they are not getting my tip, I don't care what scale of restaurant it is. We had an Applebee's here and the wait staff was absolutely horrible. Most times you could get better service sitting at the bar! I just quit going there altogether. Sometimes I guess it depends upon the managers who are running the place at the time? I have never been or worked in the service industry serving the public, but you could bet if I was, I would do whatever I needed to to bring in a nice tip! I just don't understand the mentality.

Would you look at that? Here's my drink now! A little bitchin' goes a long way.
Unacceptable!
I only had to work 5.5 hours, and then spent the rest of the afternoon waiting on windstream to come install my DSL. Well, they were supposed to be here before now, and so I called their phone customer service rep, who investigates as to WHY they are not here yet, and she tells me they are backed up, and are working Saturday (tomorrow) too, but probably will not even get to me until Monday.I informed her that today was chosen for 2 reasons: First, I was off at noon, and had the entire afternoon to be available for them to get here. Secondly, it was not in my working hours, so it seemed the perfect time, HOWEVER, I guess it was not so perfect timing for the technicians? It seemed okay with the person who called to schedule it! She didn't say they would be backed up, as a matter of fact, she offered me hookup on Wednesday which was 2 days ago. You know, the ass never knows that the head is doing!
By the way the person with whom I was speaking was in North Carolina, and they DO NOT control the technicians who are working locally, exactly one block away from my residence. I told her that if they could not get here today, nor tomorrow with any accuracy of giving me a time, then just to forget the whole DARN thing!!!! Just like this hat on a cat, it's unacceptable!!!
The reason this time was chosen was for two obvious reasons, but the third was to really check it out to see if it worked well before an actual WORKDAY was here, and so it would not interrupt my workday or scheduled times to work. So now, it's a wait and see game.
My guess is throw a party tonight! You're invited come on in, and hang out. I'll pour you a cup of whatever your pleasure, and while I'm at it, I've got to run to the bootleggers' for a little refreshment! See you here, what? around 8ish?
Perfect, dahlings!
Hi there! it's Saturday already!
I want to apologize should I need to, to those who might be upset about my not being at Blogstream any more. What is the most upsetting about that place is that most everybody over there knows the sources of contention who have tried to cause problems for not just me, but for other bloggers, but yet people still go to their blogs and comment, and to me that is like a slap in the face to me and to those other bloggers who have had to deal with these troublemakers, and their lies, deception, and manipulation and private messages explaining themselves?! To me it is ridiculous, and I want no further part of it.
In a public forum there are bound to be issues with other bloggers, however, I will not continue to let them use me for their gain. I know this may seem a little childish to some of you, like Bookworm said, it's like kids on a playground fussing around. However, I have put forth the effort and time to make blog friends because I enjoy the interaction, and I much prefer a few close online friends rather than bunch of shallow ones. I am who I am, and I am not a manipulator, nor do I use people to try to become "popular", and I don't give pity or shallow, or just empty comments. I give respect where respect is due, and I expect the same from my online blog buddies.
