Monday ~ What Sunday's Threw Up

 Image result for monday

well, I expected things to be a little slow and they are but its work, no complaints.  My boss got fired last week.  They did opt to let her draw unemployment relenting that 6$ an hour cut in pay job offer; had she declined that job offer she would not even be eligible for unemployment.

I'm here.  I didn't sleep well last night at 12:40 am I was still awake tossed and turned for hours it seemed; oh well.  I'm not tired yet, still running.  Coffee is helping.

Anyway have a great Monday bloggers.

what did I do of any value today? Nothing, absolutely nothing.  I have so enjoyed the weekend and having company but the house is all quiet now...work comes too early!  I see Monday morning on the horizon...not sure I'm ready for that.

Just Shoot Me Now!!

Pleeeeese!!!

Its amazing how little patience one can muster when its close to quitting time much less undertake a 20 minute PSYCHE dictation by some (sounds like) 90 year old Ph.D. who says "uh" every other word.  I kid you not.  There must have been a thousand "uh" stammers as he dictated that report.  It was "uh" for lack of a better word ... painful....

Finally it came to an "uh" end...uh...yeah!

and bring on the weekend! :)

Inauguration Day 2017

 I Am Fighting For You.

well today is the day they swear in the 45th.  We shall see whether he fights for the working poor or not.  At this point, my livelihood seems to be going to hell in a handbasket.  I don't have a boss per se as they let her go yesterday, and after my old boss talked to her supervisor and HR they agreed to lay her off so she could at least draw unemployment instead of making her choose to stay on and taking a cut in pay.  My other boss whose over a different section right now, called me last night, informed me that there were more cuts to come.  Oh well, at this point, whatever happens..happens..I used to fear change but any more I realize that change forces us into positive things, to move forward even in the worst of circumstances thrown our way.  Oh and an email today from HR stating that we are not going to receive any sick time any more.  They are cutting that out.  Doesn't matter if you've been with this company (merged in 2008), total time working in this field 19 years, YOU are not entitled to sick days.  Wow.  Another blow.  Whats next...

today in QA~

He is on the following medications and acids:
(dictated as "he is on the following medications:  antacids)!

seriously these US MTs are hilarious without even trying! and the client would not be a happy camper to read this in one of their reports! oh gracious...

but a tad of news from my new supervisor...they are demoting her offering her a $6 dollar less paid hourly position to be just another QA staffer like myself...in fact she tells me that it won't be long before all of us older QA are whacked...not what I wanted to hear, but when new management came in they brought their own QA people, and while the jobs are transferring to our platforms which all the older QA know very well, new upper management told her that they didn't want "us QA who are familiar with the platform" to work on certain accounts so they assign stuff we should also be able to work on.  Instead of letting us learn these accounts they are assigning QA work to THEIR QAs they brought in.  Wow...this was upper management....so this means they don't want us on their accounts that are moving over which tells me it won't be long until some of us find ourselves unemployed. :(

supervisor tells me she called her immediate supervisor and told her that offer was an insult, and they need to come up with something else or just lay her off altogether; they told her that our platform does not need a team lead now...what bullshit.

silence ...

... says more than words ever could.

“Said the Sun to the Moon -'When you are but a lonely white crone,
And I, a dead King in my golden armor somewhere in a dark wood,
Remember only this of our hopeless love
That never till time is done
Will the fire of the heart and the fire of the mind be one”
- Edith Sitwell

everything must change, nothing stays the same;
everyone must change, no one stays the same.

the young become the old; and mysteries do unfold;
Cause that’s the way of time, nothing and no one goes unchanged…

There are not many things in life, you can be sure of;
except rain comes from the clouds;
sun lights up the sky and hummingbirds do fly~

Winter turns to Spring; a wounded heart will heal;
but never much too soon;
Yes, everything must change.

Rain comes from the clouds;
Sun lights up the sky … and music … music … makes me cry.

yep...

 Cos that's what one does.:

what else is there to do?

been a very busy day so far...I've barely had time to look up from my desk, but that's a good thing.  I emailed my Human Resources Department with a complaint of exorbitant and outrageous prices associated with my insurance -- not realizing and not being provided with a formulary to see if my medications were going to cost me and arm and a leg, I am hoping that HR lets me change this ridiculously high deductible insurance.  Hopefully Trump will clean up the insurance racket? or make it worse, who knows...

on the work front, from a US MT ... (I had to look to make sure it was not offshore!)

Social History:
Bed radiant.  Fall total care at this time.

This made me giggle...gives a whole new meaning don't you think?

actually dictated as "Bedridden.  Full total care at this time, not "Fall"..

I think I liked bed radiant better! :) and MT was docked a 1.0 nonsensical error on the scale.

a dusting of snow

Dusting Of Snow - photographer Gerry Bates

Lovely pic ... brings back memories of a do-it-yourself fence from bygone days threw together from old barn lumber.   My mother-in-law & I worked tirelessly on it.  I enjoyed doing land art back then, even taking collected flat river rocks and making my own winding sidewalk from driveway to front door, but that house whose backside was made almost entirely of glass overlooking the woods was sold many years ago.

Here in eastern Kentucky we had our first light dusting of snow today, no real groundcover to speak of.  It is going to get down to 19 degrees, may get 2 inches total, not too bad, but my furnace will be working overtime to try to heat this drafty old ‘antique’ house.  I think if I lived in a warmer climate, I would miss winter and how the snow coats the landscape, virgin white, until life movement disturbs its beauty–
it’s been a long day… I’ll leave you with this.

Dust of Snow

The way a crow
Shook down on me
The dust of snow
From a hemlock tree

Has given my heart

A change of mood
And saved some part
Of a day I had rued.

Robert Frost
