this joke always makes me laugh...

Meet Margaret and Charles, who have been married for 35 years.

Charles was always a cowboy buff and wanted a pair of authentic cowboy boots. Seeing some on sale one day, he buys them, wears them home, walking proudly.

He walks into the house and says to his wife, "Notice anything different about me?"

Margaret looks him over, "Nope."

Frustrated Charles storms off into the bathroom, undresses, and walks back into the room completely naked except for the boots.

Again, he asks, a little louder this time, "Notice anything different NOW?"

Margaret looks up and says, "Charles, what's different? It's hanging down today, it was hanging down yesterday, it'll be hanging down again tomorrow.

Furious, Charles yells, "AND DO YOU KNOW WHY IT IS HANGING DOWN, MARGARET?"

"Nope". She replies.

"IT'S HANGING DOWN BECAUSE IT'S LOOKING AT MY NEW BOOTS!!!!!"

To which Margaret replies, "YA SHOULDA BOUGHT A HAT!"

bada-boom~!

Through all the madness here lately...

with work and personal family issues, I had forgotten what a great stress reliever it is just to sit and play the piano.  I have always loved classical music, and when I play more often than not its classical.  I miss my quiet time it seems here lately.  Its already after 11 p.m., and wow this day has done by quick with having to set the clocks forward an hour?  I realize I am way out of practice at playing the piano and it definitely needs a tuneup, but that's okay, my neighbors don't seem to mind...LOL...and the kids love to sing along to some old favorite tunes like Oh Suzannah, My Darling Clementine, and Shoo Fly Don't Bother Me...cause I belong to some-bod-y!

Hope everybody had a great weekend.  I'll try to get around to visit in a few days...

Its been a wild time in the old town here in Appalchia. over and out.

Friday! finally...

Wow, what a long work week, after last holiday weekend and having four days off.  I did not think Friday was ever gonna come.

Wednesday felt like Friday to me!

I need some holiday feel-good punch, and I got a good recipe over here at

The Lounge.

Gonna have to stock up on my supplies tomorrow.

Its so nice to have my car back and running...so far so good anyway!

It's Saturday Night...

Ever had a blue lagoon marguerita?  I used to love a good Amaretta sour but I found there were few who could make it taste right, too much mix, or they'd get the liquor mixed up, and it wouldn't even be right! Nothing like paying a high price for a drink and it suck! The thing to do is stay home, gather up supplies, and make up your own recipe! With the price of going out with a few friends for cocktails can be quite an expensive proposition anymore, I would say most people prefer to stay home and experiment, that fits my budget! I am not above a Crown & Coke occasionally either!

PhotobucketA Recipe for a Blue Marguerita:

1 teaspoon coarse salt
4 ounces Tequilla
2 ounces Triple Sec
2 ounces freshly-squeezed lime juice
2 ounces blue Curacaco
2 teaspoons superfine sugar
2 (1/4-inch) slices star fruit for garnish (optional)
1 lime, cut into wedges

Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice.

Place Tequilla, Triple Sec, lime juice, blue Curacaco, and sugar in the shaker; shake hard for 30 seconds.

Fill the prepared glasses with ice cubes. Strain the Blue Margarita into the salt-rimmed margarita glasses. Garnish each with a slice of star fruit or a lime wedge.

NOTE: To create a salt-rimmed glass, take a lemon or lime wedge and rub the drinking surface of the glass so it is barely moist. Dip the edge of the glass into coarse or Kosher salt.

Makes 2 serving. I much prefer this marguerita than the other and that salt ring you can leave off for me!  I was never a big marguerita fan myself, but this one is delicious!

and here's a video on what you need and how to do it, just for you, Mom on Spin!

Perhaps you would prefer to sip slowly and feel  this Velvet Hammer pet your lips and mind.

30 ml (or approx 2 tablespoons) Cointreau (an orange liqueur)
30 ml coffee liqueur (I use Kahlua)
30 ml cream
Shake, and throw it in a cocktail glass.

Anyway, hope you enjoyed the nice weather out today. Should you be looking for me, more than likely I'm listening to tunes, relaxing, and lounging here.

Come on over.
