If you could have what your heart desired for Christmas, what would that be?
First thing I think about is 'being in love...having that special someone to always rely on' but then again my head says, are you stupid? Wish for money, then you buy all the love you want!...and a good handyman in Lowe's...yeah right...
I got a leak in some piping somewhere downstairs, drip, drip, drip...ugh!
Merry Xmas, bloggers!
The Best Christmas Present ever!
Well, they changed our insurance this year to Aetna; the best I could select out of the offered options was 80/20 with a $2000 deductible. Our new insurance coverage started in September. I didn't realize that I would have to pay a $2000 deductible if I had any healthcare costs this year, but it appears that the deductible starts again in January.
Facing these bills I wondered financially how I would come up with $2000 bucks? Make payments for 45 years? LOL. Well when I learned I had gallbladder disease which was causing all of its evil problems, I had to have an ultrasound; had a prior chest x-ray a few months ago after the new insurance took effect, and that bill was a whopping 500 dollars and then the ultrasound it was 800; Yes this is after my insurance paid diddly squat. I found out that my deductible had to be met, so I contemplated putting off surgery until January but it had been too long now. So next was the surgery. Want to guess the cost of that robot assisted cholecystectomy?
Price tag: $14,000; this was not an overnight stay, just a check-in at 9:15 for outpatient surgery; kept waiting till nearly 11:30 before I even got it done, and then home by 4 PM. Yep, that's a whopper of a bill racking up.
I decided when I had the ultrasound done that I would apply for financial aid at the local hospital which is also the place I got the ultrasound done as well. I was sweating bulllets waiting for hear if I was approved for a percentage off and today I got the best Christmas present given to me this year!
I was approved for 100%, which means everything my insurance does not pay, the hospital will write it off. Talk about a happy camper today, yep! I'm not sick any more and I won't have the thousand dollar expenses, the best Xmas present ever! and this runs consecutively for 2 years, which means if I have any other procedures or surgeries or whatever, I won't have to worry about a bill. Wonderful news, eh?

2 days postop
Well, I had surgery Monday to take out this gallbladder which had stones in it, and has pretty much made me feel bad the last few months. I underwent a robotic-assisted single incision gallbladder removal. The surgeon was fairly young, (looks like Nate Appleman) and had only done about 40 of them, so I was a little worried. Today is the first day that pain medication is allowing me to move without screaming! It was rough going that first day and the 2nd day, especially that morning after surgery when I woke up, nauseated, had to pee, and my insides felt like they were being torn apart as I tried to get up! Good thing my neighbors couldn't hear me screaming and cursing! LOL
I guess its back to work for me tomorrow. I should have taken off the whole week, but I'll try to work it; I know my boss has a mess going on, that I'll have to help get cleaned up! Hope you guys are having a stellar week.
ROFLMAO!
Heard of a vulvar aggressive female?
yeah...well
you have now!
you can't make this stuff up, what MTs think they hear, or the speech rec engine spits it out, regardless, its hilarious!
that's one of the best workday funnies I've had in a while!
Thanksgiving...
Many things have been said about Thanksgiving's ability to unite family,
remind us of what we have and comfort us with great food before the
long winter, but some of the best (and worst) things about the holiday
have been said by comedians. Let's face it: as wonderful as the holiday
may be, a day dedicated to football, gluttony and awkward family moments
with a questionable origin provides more than enough material for a
joke. Check out these quotes about Thanksgiving from a few comedians you'll probably recognize!
Jon Stewart: "I celebrated Thanksgiving in an old-fashioned way. I invited everyone in my neighborhood to my house, we had an enormous feast, and then I killed them and took their land."
Jim Gaffigan: "Thanksgiving. It's like we didn't even try to come up with a tradition. The tradition is, we overeat. 'Hey, how about at Thanksgiving we just eat a lot?' 'But we do that every day!' 'Oh. What if we eat a lot with people that annoy the hell out of us?'"
Stephen Colbert: "Thanksgiving is a magical time of year when families across the country join together to raise America's obesity statistics. Personally, I love Thanksgiving traditions: watching football, making pumpkin pie, and saying the magic phrase that sends your aunt storming out of the dining room to sit in her car."
Kevin James: "Thanksgiving, man. Not a good day to be my pants."
Jack Handey: "If you're at a Thanksgiving dinner, but you don't like the stuffing or the cranberry sauce or anything else, just pretend like you're eating it, but instead, put it all in your lap and form it into a big mushy ball. Then, later, when you're out back having cigars with the boys, let out a big fake cough and throw the ball to the ground. Then say, 'Boy, these are good cigars!'"
Jay Leno: "You can tell you ate too much for Thanksgiving when you have to let your bathrobe out."
Johnny Carson: "Thanksgiving is an emotional holiday. People travel thousands of miles to be with people they only see once a year. And then discover once a year is way too often." hahaha!
George Carlin: "We're having something a little different this year for Thanksgiving. Instead of a turkey, we're having a swan. You get more stuffing."
Greg Proops: Ever since you're little you hear this: 'The pilgrims left England to escape religious persecution and sneak religious freedom into the new world.' But even when you're little you're like, 'Umm.. Bullsh*t?'"
David Letterman: When I was a kid in Indiana, we thought it would be fun to get a turkey a year ahead of time and feed it and so on for the following Thanksgiving. But by the time Thanksgiving came around, we sort of thought of the turkey as a pet, so we ate the dog. Only kidding. It was the cat!
Happy Thanksgiving ya'll!
was there really a good choice?
I started watching the polls after I had worked all day and while I am not a republican, Romney won the State of Kentucky. Go figure, rednecks, white socks, Republicans and Blue Ribbon beer! Perhaps Obama can actually get a few things accomplished in the next 4, who knows, but it sure beats the alternative.
