Random Blogstream post...corn corn not corn again?

You guys remember the discussion about corn?...The Undigestible Vegetable...well I think this was the next day...both were fun posts...It looks like I was playing around with my background over at Blogstream at that time too; it always makes me think of Bry and that comment he made...Bella: Kindly internet cruise director or criminal mastermind?! Let's face it..her page always looks perfect..almost TOO perfect! I thought I saw one of my margins sticking out of the top of her purse early this morning, but it was just the string of a ....well, you know! he's got a great sense of humor, look him up, or simply click here.

I also copied over the comments...If you like to add one, you'll have to all the way to the end!
Bella's Gotta Brand New Blog

 Morning Bloggers!

Today, we are not going to be exploring the undigestible vegetable called corn! or why it looks the same going in as coming out! You can check out that post yourself by clicking here!

Perhaps I will explore why it takes two days to digest a steak.

WHAT?

Yeah, you heard me. Heide informed me that it takes two days to digest a steak?

Did you all know this?

In continuing with my fetish on digestion ...

Here's my research today. It comes from The Oprah Show and Dr. Oz. Who the hell is he?

The question posed was ...

How long does it take food to digest?

Have you ever wondered what happens to the food you eat? First, it passes through the esophagus. It moves by a wave of muscle contractions that squeeze the food down at about two inches per second. When the food reaches the stomach, it falls into a churning pool of digestive juices. In the stomach, the food is broken down into easily absorbable ingredients: proteins, sugars and fats. (yeah, yeah, get to the good part!!!)

Then greenish brown bile (yuck) produced in the liver is added to help the breakdown of these fats. By the time the food leaves your stomach and passes into the small intestine, it's unrecognizable (well except for CORN!!). The walls of our intestines absorb the nutrients into our blood and that's how we get the energy we all need to live.

How long does this vital process take? It depends on what you're eating, Dr. Oz says. "A steak dinner can take you two, maybe three days to get out of your intestine. What that means is the way you digest it is basically to rot it in your intestines. (I dont know about ya'll but that sounds disgusting!) On the other hand, if you eat vegetables and fruits, they're out of your system in less than 12 hours." (well, I know that's not true, LOL! cause it's been how many days? two? that's 24!).

What about chewing gum? Is it true that it takes seven years for it to digest? "No," Dr. Oz says. However, this little urban legend can be a good way to "get kids to stop chewing gum."

what's going on with you today?

forget that question ... what are you eating today ??

p.s. I messed around with the background, but I changed it back and forths! LOL so if you come over here and it's green you'll know why! It might be black next time you come over! hee hee!

Simple sugars such as glucose may be absorbed into the bloodstream almost immediately. These molecules are small enough to pass through cells and into the blood in a matter of minutes, and may even do so while food is still in the mouth by zooming through cells in the cheeks and gums.

Most food needs processing, however, before it can pass into the bloodstream. This starts from the moment that it enters the mouth. Here it is crushed to bits until it is small enough to be swallowed, and enzymes are released that begin to break it down further.

Once it starts its journey down the throat, food reaches the stomach very quickly, but then sits there for about 2 hours. The stomach is where most food is broken down: physically, by the churning motions created by muscles in the stomach wall, and chemically, by enzymes, acids and other gastric juices. The resulting semi-liquid mush passes into the small intestine, from where it is absorbed into the bloodstream. The components that cannot be digested at all, such as dietary fibre, will move along slowly until they reach the large intestine around 6 hours later. Once they arrive there, any water still in them is absorbed so that only the indigestible materials remain. It may take up to 33 hours before they are finally expelled from the body as faeces.

If it takes 2 days for it to get through, you need to up your intake of fluid, or just stop being such a tightass! lol BC

I think you're right. I need to drink more water! every hours 8 ounces that's my new intake!

Bella

Very interesting! I'm beginning to watch you and Dr. Oz - for more life saving information - I wonder if you ate "corn and steak" on the same night if your tummy could handle it?

Also - I have been in public restrooms after some people have had that food escape from their bodies and I know for a fact that it must have been in their system longer than 2 to 3 days - cause what I smelled died long before that!

What kind of sex do you have?

Two men were talking. "So, how's your sex life?" "Oh, nothing special. I'm having Social Security sex." "Social Security sex?" "Yeah, you know: I get a little each month, but not enough to live on!"

A wife went in to see a therapist and said, "I've got a big problem, doctor. Every time we're in bed and my husband climaxes, he lets out this ear splitting yell." "My dear," the shrink said, "that's completely natural. I don't see what the problem is." "The problem is," she complained, "It wakes me up!"

Tired of a listless sex life, the man came right out and asked his wife during a recent lovemaking session, "How come you never tell me when you have an orgasm?" She glanced at him casually and replied, "You're never home!"

A man was in a terrible accident, and his "manhood" was mangled and torn from his body. His doctor assured him that modern medicine could give him back his manhood, but that his insurance wouldn't cover the surgery, since it was considered cosmetic. The doctor said the cost would be $3,500 for "small, $6,500 for "medium, $14,000 for "large." The man was sure he would want a medium or large, but the doctor urged him to talk it over with his wife before he made any decision. The man called his wife on the phone and explained their options. The doctor came back into the room, and found the man looking dejected. "Well, what have the two of you decided?" asked the doctor. The man answered, "She'd rather remodel the kitchen".

A husband and his wife had a bitter quarrel on the day of their 40th wedding anniversary. The husband yells, "When you die, I'm getting you a headstone that reads: 'Here Lies My Wife - Cold As Ever'." "Yeah," she replies, "When you die, I'm getting you a headstone reads: 'Here Lies My Husband - Stiff At Last.'"

Nora's husband came home with a tube of KY jelly and said, "This will make you happy tonight." He was right. When he went out of the bedroom, she squirted it all over the doorknobs and he couldn't get back in.

A husband and wife were celebrating their 50th anniversary. That night the wife approached her husband wearing the exact same sexy negligee she had worn on their wedding night. She looked at her husband and said, "Honey, do you remember this?"

He looked up at her and said, "Yes dear, I do. You wore that same negligee the night we were married."

She said, "That's right. Do you remember what you said to me that night?"

He nodded and said, "Yes dear, I still remember."

"Well, what was it?" she asked.

He responded, "As I remember, I said, 'Oh baby, I'm going to suck the life out of those big breasts and screw your brains out.'"

She giggled and said, "Yes honey, that's exactly what you said. So, now it's 50 years later, and I'm in the same negligee I wore that night. What do you have to say tonight?"

Again he looked up at her, and he replied, "Well, mission accomplished."

bada-boom!

A couple is lying in bed. The man says, "I am going to make you the happiest woman in the world." The woman says..... "I'll miss you."

hey do you know the difference between a drug dealer and a hooker?

a hooker can wash her crack and sell it again!

how about the difference between an oooooh and an aaaaah? about 3 inches!

and if the dove is the bird of peace ... what is the bird of true love?

come on guess ...

this joke always makes me laugh...

Meet Margaret and Charles, who have been married for 35 years.

Charles was always a cowboy buff and wanted a pair of authentic cowboy boots. Seeing some on sale one day, he buys them, wears them home, walking proudly.

He walks into the house and says to his wife, "Notice anything different about me?"

Margaret looks him over, "Nope."

Frustrated Charles storms off into the bathroom, undresses, and walks back into the room completely naked except for the boots.

Again, he asks, a little louder this time, "Notice anything different NOW?"

Margaret looks up and says, "Charles, what's different? It's hanging down today, it was hanging down yesterday, it'll be hanging down again tomorrow.

Furious, Charles yells, "AND DO YOU KNOW WHY IT IS HANGING DOWN, MARGARET?"

"Nope". She replies.

"IT'S HANGING DOWN BECAUSE IT'S LOOKING AT MY NEW BOOTS!!!!!"

To which Margaret replies, "YA SHOULDA BOUGHT A HAT!"

bada-boom~!
